Strictly Social Pinder Dance

Ballroom, Latin & Sequence Dances

About

Strictly Social Pinder Dances are friendly and fun. During the evening there's a mix of ballroom, Latin and sequence dances to good contemporary dance music. While most of the dancers are from the local area of Bucks and Berks, some people travel from farther afield to join us!

All ages and abilities are welcome. Everyone was a beginner once, and we're still learning and practising new routines, so nobody should feel self-conscious. We dance for fun, exercise and friendship -- it's all Strictly Social!

Tea, coffee, cake and biscuits are served during the break, but you're welcome to bring your own drinks and nibbles too. We also hold a raffle for charity every month.

Background

There have been monthly social dances at Pinder Hall since April 1987. Originally called Cookham Dance Club, it was set up by a committee that included Judy Spalding, who went on to form Seasons Dance School. We found out about the social dances when we started having lessons at Seasons about 10 years ago. In recent years, the dances went from strength to strength under the stewardship of Terry Flannery from Strictly Social Dance Club. We've made many friends and honed our dancing skills at Pinder, so when we heard that Terry was moving to Devon, we felt it was important to keep the dances going. Eight of us from one of Terry's classes got together and Strictly Social Pinder Dance was formed.

We've been running the dances at Pinder Hall since September 2018, and we've been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement we've received from everyone. We hope you will continue to enjoy and support Strictly Social Pinder Dances.
